NALLES MILL RD. IN CULPEPER CLOSED MAY 2-6
Eastern end of road will be tied into new roadway near Rt. 29-666 interchange
CULPEPER — Next week, the Virginia Department of Transportation will close Route 667 (Nalles Mill Road) in Culpeper County to connect the route’s eastern end to the newly constructed Rogers Road near Route 666 (Braggs Corner Road). The new alignment is part of VDOT’s Route 29/666 interchange construction project.
The closure will begin at 7 a.m. Monday, May 2 and will remain in place until the afternoon of Friday, May 6. Access to all entrances will be maintained, but through traffic will be restricted between Route 799 (Keyser Road) and Route 666. Motorists should seek an alternate route.
Message boards and detour signs will be posted to notify the public of the closure.
The $28.6 million Route 29/666 project involves reconstructing the existing intersection as a grade-separated interchange for improved safety and mobility. Work began in May 2015 and is being performed by contractor Chemung Contracting Corp. of Mitchells. The project’s fixed completion date is Aug. 18, 2017.
