RT. 15/17/29 SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS PUBLIC HEARING IS DEC. 6
Give input on proposed project to close two crossovers, reconfigure two others

CULPEPER — The Virginia Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an upcoming design public hearing on the proposed safety improvements along Route 15/17/29 (James Madison Highway) north of Opal in Fauquier County.

The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Liberty High School, 6300 Independence Avenue, Bealeton. VDOT staff will be available during the hearing to discuss the project and answer questions.

VDOT proposes to close two median crossovers and reconfigure two crossovers. Without making major adjustments to the Route 15/17/29 roadway, the proposed modifications to the four crossovers will reduce the number of traffic conflicts along the corridor. Conflicting traffic movements, such as vehicles turning from opposite directions, will be separated, and sufficient space between intersections will be provided.

Written and oral comments will be taken at the hearing. Written comments can also be submitted by Dec. 16 to David Cubbage, Project Manager, 1601 Orange Road, Culpeper, VA 22701. Email comments can be sent to David.Cubbage@vdot.virginia.gov.

Anyone requiring special assistance to attend and participate in this meeting may contact VDOT at 540-829-7500, 800-367-7623 or TTY/TDD 711.

More information about the projects can be found on VDOT’s website at http://www.virginiadot.org/projects/culpeper/15-17-29safetyimprovements.asp.
