CULPEPER — The Virginia Department of Transportation invites residents of central Virginia to weigh in on transportation projects recommended for funding through a data-driven prioritization process known as House Bill 2.
A formal public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at the VDOT Culpeper District Office, 1601 Orange Road, Culpeper. Comments are also welcomed by email to Six-YearProgram@VDOT.Virginia.gov or by mail to VDOT Infrastructure Investment Director, 1401 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23219. The comment deadline is May 27.
The HB2 process was used to score nearly 300 projects proposed statewide, including 17 projects within the nine-county Culpeper District. The scores and public comments will be used by the Commonwealth Transportation Board to select the final list of projects to receive public funding through the state’s Six-Year Improvement Program for fiscal years 2017-2022.
More information about the Six-Year Improvement Program is online at www.virginiadot.org/projects/syp-default.asp.
