Overnight Ramp Closures Planned On I-66 This Week
Closures planned at the I-495 Interchange and Near Vienna Metrorail Station

FAIRFAX – Several ramp closures and traffic stoppages are scheduled to occur during the overnight hours the remainder of this week for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

Details include:

Thursday, Nov. 21
Ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East

  • The ramp from I-495 North to I-66 East will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 21, from midnight to 5 a.m., for crews to set concrete barrier. Drivers will be directed to I-66 West to Nutley Street South, stay to the right and follow signs to I-66 East.

Friday, Nov. 22, through Monday, Nov. 25
Ramp from I-66 West to Country Creek Road
Westbound I-66 Collector-Distributor Road at Vaden Drive

  • Full weekend closure of the ramp from I-66 West to Country Creek Road for demolition work on the Vaden Drive bridge beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, through 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25. Additionally, the westbound collector-distributor road will be closed prior to Vaden Drive. Traffic entering westbound I-66 from Nutley Street or Virginia Center Boulevard will merge into the I-66 West main lanes at the Vienna Metrorail Station.  

Friday, Nov. 22
Ramp from Gallows Road South to I-495 South

  • The ramp from southbound Gallows Road to I-495 South will be closed from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Traffic will be directed to continue south on Gallows Road, stay to the left and make a U-turn under police direction at the traffic signal for the ramp to I-495 North. Then stay to the right and follow signs to I-495 South.

All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
