Traffic Stoppages Planned on I-66 East and West Near Cedar Lane During Overnight Hours Next Week for Overhead Utility Work
FAIRFAX – Traffic stoppages and lane closures are planned on I-66 East and West near Vienna during the overnight hours of Sunday, March 8, Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14, so that overhead fiber lines near Cedar Lane can be relocated. Traffic on I-66 will be stopped simultaneously in both directions for up to 20 minutes each time to accommodate the work, which is needed for the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.
I-66 East and West between Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road) and I-495
Sunday, March 8
Friday, March 13, and Saturday, March 14
- Three left lanes will be closed on I-66 West between I-495 and Cedar Lane between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. (9 a.m. weekends)
- Three left lanes will be closed on I -66 East between Route 123 and Cedar Lane between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. (9 a.m. weekends)
- Between midnight and 4 a.m., there will be multiple traffic stoppages of up to 20 minutes each in both directions of I-66 simultaneously.
All work is weather dependent and will be rescheduled if inclement conditions occur.
