FLEETWOOD ROAD CLOSED THROUGH AUGUST
Detour in place during paving of gravel surface

Update: Fleetwood Road is scheduled to reopen to through traffic the afternoon of Wednesday, August 24, weather permitting.

ALDIE – Fleetwood Road (Route 616) is closed to through traffic between Route 50 and Evergreen Mills Road (Route 621) through August to replace the gravel road surface with pavement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

In addition, the ditches will be restored along this stretch of Fleetwood.

Access during the closure is limited to residents within the closure area and emergency responders.  Through traffic is being detoured via Route 50, Stone Springs Boulevard (Route 659) and Evergreen Mills Road back to Fleetwood.

The project is being carried out under VDOT’s Rural Rustic Road Program, which aims to preserve the traditional feel of a rural road while making surface and other improvements within the current right-of-way.
