New paved surface from Revival Drive to south of Evergreen Mills Road

ALDIE – Fleetwood Road has reopened to through traffic, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The road was closed to through traffic from June 1 until this evening in order to replace about two miles of gravel surface with pavement, from Revival Drive to just south of Evergreen Mills Road. In addition, the ditches were restored along this stretch of Fleetwood.

The project was carried out under VDOT’s Rural Rustic Road Program, which aims to preserve the traditional feel of a rural road while making surface and other improvements within the current right-of-way.

The northern end of the new pavement, located about a quarter-mile south of Evergreen Mills Road, is planned to connect to Langley Oaks Drive in the near future.
