VDOT News - Northern Virginia

CHANTILLY – Safety improvements to the one-mile stretch of Gum Spring Road between Sweetwater Lane and Cedar Ridge Boulevard have been completed, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Components of the project include:

• Improved roadway alignment
• Increased lane and shoulder width
• New guardrail
• Roadside drainage improvements such as a stormwater management pond

Construction on the $5.3 million project began in Dec. 2015 and was completed last week. The contractor is A&M Concrete Corp.
