I-395 HOV LANES CLOSED DURING OVERNIGHT HOURS THIS WEEK
Closures on HOV Lanes between Potomac River and Edsall Road
FAIRFAX - Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the northern portion of the I-395 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes during overnight hours on Tuesday through Thursday (Feb. 2-4). The closures are needed for crews to inspect and assess roadway and sign conditions as part of preliminary work related to the future extension of the I-395 Express Lanes.
Each night, beginning at 9:30 p.m., the HOV lanes in the northern section of I-395 will be closed from the Washington D.C. line to Turkeycock Run, just north of Edsall Road (Route 648). The lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m. each morning in the northbound direction. The HOV lanes from Edsall Road to Garrisonville Road (Route 610) will remain open each night heading southbound until midnight, and then reversed to northbound before the morning rush hour.
There will be similar I-395 HOV lane closures occurring each weekend for the next three weeks. For more project information, go to www.395expresslanes.com.
