Route 7/George Washington Boulevard Overpass Hearing Dec. 15
Join VDOT to learn about project design and provide input

ASHBURN – The Virginia Department of Transportation is holding a design public hearing Thursday, Dec. 15 on plans to extend George Washington Boulevard and construct a new overpass over Route 7 to decrease congestion and improve traffic operations.
The project will construct a new four-lane road from George Washington Boulevard’s existing eastern terminus at Bridgefield Way/Research Place to Russell Branch Parkway. This will be accomplished by constructing a new bridge over Route 7.
Additional improvements include:
- Ten foot-wide shared-use path along the northbound side of George Washington Boulevard
- Six-foot-wide sidewalk along the southbound side of George Washington Boulevard
The public is invited to stop by between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. at the George Washington University Exploration Hall Lobby, 20101 Academic Way, Ashburn, VA 20147 to view displays and learn more about project design. VDOT staff will be available to answer questions.
Comments may be provided at the meeting or sent to VDOT by Dec. 26, 2016. E-mail or mail comments to Mr. James C. Zeller, P.E., Virginia Department of Transportation, 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030.
