Route 7 Overnight Closures in Ashburn Begin Tonight
Detour in place for Ashburn Village Boulevard interchange bridge girder work

Update: Westbound Route 7 will be closed between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. the nights of Wednesday, Dec. 7 and Thursday, Dec. 8. Traffic will be detoured as detailed below.
ASHBURN – Beginning tonight, full closures will occur overnights on Route 7 between Ashburn Village Boulevard and Lexington Drive for bridge girder work related to the Ashburn Village Boulevard interchange project, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Weather permitting, the closures will occur between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. on the following nights:
- Monday, Nov. 14 - Thursday, Nov. 17 and Monday, Nov. 21: Eastbound Route 7 and one lane of westbound Route 7 closed
- Tuesday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 29 – Thursday, Dec. 1 and Monday, Dec. 5 – Tuesday, Dec. 6: Westbound Route 7 closed
Traffic will be detoured via Ashburn Village Boulevard, Russell Branch Parkway, Atwater Drive and Lexington Drive back to Route 7.
Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternate routes. Message boards and detour signage will be in place.
The Ashburn Village Boulevard interchange project is being completed through a Loudoun County proffer and is scheduled for completion in summer 2018. For more information visit https://www.loudoun.gov/underconstruction (item 40 on map).
