Scotland Heights Road Closed Until Late November
Detour in place during paving of gravel surface

ROUND HILL – Scotland Heights Road (Route 712) is closed to through traffic between Simpsons Creek Road and Williams Gap Road (Route 711) until late November to replace a section of the gravel road surface with pavement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The section of Scotland Heights Road being paved is that between Simpsons Creek Road and Flint Farm Drive. In addition, the ditches will be restored along this stretch.
Access during the closure is limited to residents within the closure area, emergency responders and school buses. Through traffic is being detoured via Simpsons Creek Road, Route 7 and Williams Gap Road back to Scotland Heights Road.
The project is being carried out under VDOT’s Rural Rustic Road Program, which aims to preserve the traditional feel of a rural road while making surface and other improvements within the current right-of-way.
