Cochran Mill Road Bridge over Tuscarora Creek Reduced to One Lane
Bridge construction project scheduled for completion by summer 2019

LEESBURG – The two-lane Cochran Mill Road (Route 653) bridge over Tuscarora Creek has been reduced to one lane of alternating traffic until further notice, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The reduction to one lane enables traffic to travel over the center of the bridge. Drivers are asked to be courteous and take turns crossing the bridge.

No vehicle weight restrictions are being imposed, but trucks and other heavy vehicles are advised to use alternate routes.

A developer is working under a VDOT permit to construct a new two-lane bridge over Tuscarora Creek that will replace the existing bridge. The project is scheduled for completion by summer 2019.
