PROJECT TO REPLACE BRIDGES ON PATRICK HENRY HIGHWAY (ROUTE 360) BEGINNING SOON IN AMELIA COUNTY
Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the project

SOUTH CHESTERFIELD — On Monday, October 5, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin a project to replace the eastbound and westbound bridges of Patrick Henry Highway (Route 360) over Route 360 Business (Goodes Bridge Road) and the Norfolk Southern Railway in Amelia County.

Drivers can expect lane closures and flagging operations for the duration of the project. Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the project, with short, intermittent detours in place for on- and off-ramp accesses during traffic shifts.

The purpose of this State of Good Repair project is to replace the existing four-span twinExisting Route 360 bridges in Amelia County bridges with two-span bridges, along with clearance for an additional railroad track and access road. The new bridges will have two 12-foot wide lanes with 4-foot wide shoulders, giving drivers a 32-foot clear roadway width for enhanced visibility and safety. The existing bridges were constructed in 1966.

Weather permitting, the approximately $7.8 million
project is expected to be complete in summer 2022.
