Recently Completed: Route 606 (Ferry Road) Intersection Improvements

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has completed construction to improve the Route 3 Business (Kings Highway) and Route 606 (Ferry Road) intersection, located in the Ferry Farm area of Stafford County.

Benefits 

This project will reduce driver delays at the intersection by expanding turn lane capacity.

The $5.1 million intersection improvement project built dual left turn lanes from Ferry Road onto Route 3 Business eastbound. The existing right turn lane from Route 3 Business westbound onto Ferry Road was lengthened.

In addition, a left turn lane was added on Route 3 Business westbound at the entrance to George Washington’s boyhood home at Ferry Farm. A right turn lane was added on Route 3 Business eastbound into Ferry Farm. 

Existing traffic signal equipment was upgraded to accommodate the additional turn lanes.
