This project will rehabilitate the 21st Street North bridge over I-66. The bridge was originally built in 1980.

The project includes:

  • Resurfacing the concrete bridge deck and closing deck joints
  • Repairing concrete piers and abutments
  • Replacing bearings

The width of the existing lanes and sidewalks on the bridge will remain the same.

The bridge carries about 1,400 vehicles a day.

Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $610,000
Construction - $4 million
Total - $4.6 million

This project is financed with federal and state funding, including State of Good Repair funds used for bridges.

Benefits 

This project will improve safety for drivers and pedestrians and extend the overall life of the bridge.
