Please note: The bridge is closed every Friday night from midnight to 7 a.m. through this fall; Saturday nights are backup dates with the same closure times. The bridge weight limit is posted at 20 tons.

This project is repairing the southbound I-395/Route 1 Exit 8C bridge that carries southbound Route 1 over the 395 Express Lanes, the northbound I-395 general purpose lanes and northbound Route 110.
The repair work includes:
- Retrofitting and spot painting structural steel
- Replacing the catcher beam system
- Reconstructing the deck expansion joint
- Installing a preformed joint seal
The bridge was originally built in 1976 and rehabilitated in 1999. It averages 20,000 vehicles a day.
Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $1 million
Construction - $3 million
Total - $4 million
The project is financed with federal and state funding.

This project will improve safety and extend the overall life of the bridge.
