This project will upgrade the signalized intersection of Columbia Pike (Route 244) and Lacy Boulevard.
The improvements include:
- Flashing yellow arrows on Route 244 for left turns
- Crosswalks
- Accessible pedestrian signals
- Traffic signal and curb ramp upgrades
Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $100,000
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation - $140,000
Construction - $386,000
Total - $626,000
The project is financed with federal and state Highway Safety Improvement Program funding.
At the intersection, Columbia Pike averages 33,000 vehicles a day and Lacy Boulevard averages 5,000.
