This project is constructing missing segments of the shared-use path along northbound Route 29 (Lee Highway) between Vaden Drive and Nutley Street (Route 243). The project is also extending the Route 29 culvert over the tributary of Accotink Creek just west of Nutley Street to accommodate the shared-use path.

Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $1.2 million
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation - $1.2 million
Construction - $1.4 million
Total - $3.8 million

This project is financed with local funding and part of the concession fee provided under the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project Comprehensive Agreement.

Benefits 

The project will improve safety and accessibility for bicyclists and pedestrians.
