Please note: The bridge is closed to through traffic to allow for the bridge replacement. Detours for vehicles are in place until late 2023, with pedestrian access maintained at all times.

This project is replacing the weight-restricted (10 tons) South Oak Street bridge over Tripps Run. The bridge was built in 1953.

The new bridge will not have posted weight restrictions and will feature a concrete foundation, walls and deck. 

The bridge averages 1,700 vehicles a day.

Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $555,000
Right of Way Acquisition - $35,000
Construction - $1.6 million
Total - $2.2 million

This project is financed with federal and state funding, including State of Good Repair funds used for bridges.

This project will improve long-term safety and operations.

Major Milestones 

Begin Construction - December 2022
Close Bridge to Vehicle Traffic - February 2023
Reopen Bridge to Vehicle Traffic - Late 2023
Final Completion - Late 2023
